Kathmandu: A writ petition has been filed in the Supreme Court against Foreign Minister Narayan Khadka’s oath.

Advocate Bishal Neupane has filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court saying that the swearing in of Minister Khadka was done without any legal provision and legal resources. The writ petition is scheduled for Wednesday.

Khadka had taken the oath of office and secrecy in front of President Bidya Devi Bhandari on September 22, but advocate Neupane, who filed the writ today, has demanded an interim order not to allow Khadka to serve as foreign minister until he is sworn in as per the constitution.

In the writ petition, it has been demanded that an internal order should be issued by the Supreme Court not to allow anyone to take oath as a minister without making federal law as per Article 80 of the Constitution of Nepal.
