Three people arrested for selling fake alchohol in name of famous brand

Kathmandu: It has been revealed that fake alcohol is being sold in the name of local and foreign brands of alcohol in Kathmandu.

Nepal Police has arrested 3 people on charges of being involved in the producing and selling fake alcohol.

The police have arrested Niraj Upreti of Dolakha, the owner of a liquor store called Next Test Liquor in Kupandol, Lalitpur, Dharmi Paudel of Syangja, the owner of ST Liquor Store in Mitranagar, Gongabu, and Ganesh Bahadur Rana magar, a native of Sindhuli, and a resident of Tikathli, Lalitpur.

At the press conference, the head of the office, Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Manoj KC said that they have seized counterfeit liquor and chemicals used for making liquor, empty bottles of various local and foreign brands of liquor, stickers used for excise duties and leveling and packaging machines and other materials from the factory.

The police also said that they recovered 6 bottles of fake Golden Oak, 48 bottles of 8848 Vodka, 92 bottles of Khukuri Ram and 132 bottles of Ruslan Vodka and others.
