Kathmandu: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has sent back the Citizenship Bill.
The President’s Office has issued a press release on Sunday evening to inform that the bill has been sent back to the House of Representatives by the President citing that it is necessary for the Federal Parliament to reconsider it.
The House of Representatives and the National Assembly passed the Citizenship Bill and sent it to the President with the provision that the children of those who have Nepali citizenship by birth will get the citizenship of their descendants and get citizenship from their mother’s name.
