Mayor Balen says political parties trying to make him failure

Kathmandu: Balen Sah, Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, has objected to the non-cooperation in the waste management of the valley.

Objecting to the statement issued by the leaders of Nepali Congress, CPN Maoist Center and United Socialist Party of Dhuniweshi municipality of Dhading, where the landfill site is located, Balen commented that a dirty game is being played over the garbage issue.

He has also questioned why one local government is trying to make another local government uncooperative and unsuccessful.

After informing that 250 to 350 vehicles will take the waste to Bancharedanda in Kathmandu every day from Sunday, there was a blockage in two places on Sunday and after solving it, the three ruling parties of Dhuniveshi issued a statement and tried to block it, Balen said.

He said that it is everyone’s duty to implement the agreements made in the past, saying that he did not do these things out of spite.

“It was not even done by leaning. It has legal agreements. It is everyone’s duty to comply with those agreements,” said Balen.
