Kathmandu: The Parliamentary Committee has instructed the government to make necessary arrangements for fair price shops across the country for festivals like Dashain, Tihar and Chhath.
The meeting of the Sustainable Development and Good Governance Committee under the National Assembly of the Federal Parliament held at Singha Durbar on Tuesday gave this instruction to the government.
The committee has also asked the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport to tighten the monitoring work so that the vehicle fares cannot be taken arbitrarily.
In the meeting, the members of the committee alerted the government to mobilize the traffic police to prevent accidents during the festival.
