Kathmandu: The parliamentary committee has directed the government to provide food and daily necessities to the general public at affordable prices during the festive season.
A meeting of the Industry and Commerce and Labor and Consumer Interest Committee of the House of Representatives on Tuesday directed the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies to make arrangements for providing daily necessities at affordable prices.
Announcing the decision of the committee, committee chairman Bimal Prasad Srivastava directed the Ministry of Industry not to allow any shortage of materials during the festival. He said that the committee has instructed the ministry to fill the shortage of drinking water in the market and solve various problems in the far west.
Similarly, the committee has also directed Salt Trading Corporation to keep food shops including sugar in other places.
The committee has also directed monitoring the market across the country.
