Kathmandu: The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has set a new deadline for receiving grants for private housing reconstruction.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the NEA’s executive committee on Friday. According to the new deadline, the existing reconstruction and incineration beneficiaries will have to sign the grant agreement by mid-December and to collect the first installment by December 31.
All the reconstruction beneficiaries who have already taken the first installment will have to start the construction of the house and apply for the certification at the concerned local level by mid-January, 2021 to get the second installment.
All Reconstruction and Infiltration beneficiaries will have to apply for verification at the concerned local level by mid-April, 2021 to get the third and final installment.
NRA has stated that it will be done in the last deadline as the working procedure of NRA is nearing completion. It has been said that all the beneficiaries eligible for the private housing subsidy have been requested to reach an agreement as soon as possible and apply for the grant at the local level.
NRA has also requested the beneficiaries who want to demolish the old house and build a new one to apply to the concerned district project implementation unit (building) as soon as possible.
