Newly elected MPs took oath today

Kathmandu: The newly elected members of the House of Representatives took the oath of office and secrecy today.
Pashupati Shamser Jabara, a senior member of the House of Representatives, administered the oath to the MPs in the hall of the Federal Parliament Building, New Baneshwar.

Some parliamentarians have taken oath in the name of God and some in the name of the people. 26 MPs took oath in their mother tongue while others used Nepali language. Along with the oath, the Federal Parliament Secretariat has also distributed the badges of MPs.

For the oath-taking ceremony, the parliamentarians reached the parliament building wearing clothes that reflected their ethnic identity.
