Kathmandu: The Supreme Court has ordered the release of Charles Sobraj, who is notorious as the bikini killer.
The bench of judges Sapana Pradhan Malla and Tilprasad Shrestha ordered the release of Sobraj.
A petition has been submitted by a prisoner who has been imprisoned for more than the specified period of time to be released from prison.
Sobraj, through his legal practitioner, was repeatedly giving writs of habeas corpus in the Supreme Court. In that, senior citizens over 70 years of age used to demand for the facility to be released from prison.
Sobraj was sentenced to life imprisonment by the District Court Bhaktapur for the murder of American citizen Connie Joe Bronchich and Canadian citizen Carriere Laurent.
