Nepal’s batswomen secure world record victory in ACC Women’s Premier Cup

Kathmandu: In a historic triumph, Nepal’s batting duo, Rubina Chhetri and Puja Mahato, achieved a world record victory against Maldives in the ACC Women’s Premier Cup. Setting an impressive target of 228 runs for Maldives, Nepal secured an extraordinary win with a staggering margin of 214 runs, as they dismissed Maldives for just 13 runs.

This remarkable victory propels Nepal into the quarterfinals of the tournament, maintaining an undefeated streak in Group D. The upcoming quarterfinal clash will see Nepal facing Kuwait, the runner-up of Group A.

During Maldives’ pursuit of the challenging target, they were bowled out for a mere 13 runs in 13.5 overs. Sumaya Ahmed emerged as the highest scorer for Maldives with just 5 runs. Strikingly, six players from the Maldivian team were dismissed without contributing any runs to the scoreboard.
