Kathmandu University to ‘host International Vice-Chancellors’ Meet and Bharat-Nepal Higher Education Summit’

Kathmandu: Kathmandu University (KU) is gearing up to host the prestigious International Vice-Chancellors’ Meet and the Bharat-Nepal Higher Education Summit from February 15 to 17 at its main campus in Dhulikhel, Kavre. Organized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)–North Zone, with KU as an Associate Member, the event aims to facilitate collaboration and dialogue among leaders from over 150 international universities.

According to the Department of Languages and Mass Communication at KU, a total of 227 participants from abroad have confirmed their attendance. While a significant number hails from Indian universities, representatives from the ASEAN University Network (AUN), Europe, and Africa are also expected to participate in the meet and summit.

Themed “Globalization and Internationalization of Higher Education,” the VC Meet will explore the impact of globalization on higher education institutions, fostering international collaboration and idea exchange. The event provides a platform for networking, forming partnerships, and sharing best practices, promoting cross-cultural cooperation among academic communities, especially within the South Asian region.

Simultaneous events will take place throughout the valley, with the main activities occurring in Dhulikhel. Higher education institutions not part of AIU’s North Zone will interact with faculties and students at Kathmandu University and other campuses, exploring potential collaborations at institutional, departmental, and individual faculty levels.

The summit provides a unique opportunity for Nepalese universities to showcase their strengths on the global stage, fostering international partnerships and collaboration.
