Nepal lose to Zimbabwe by 8 wickets on first match of World Cup Qualifier

Kathmandu: Nepal has been defeated by 8 wickets by Test nation Zimbabwe in the ICC One Day Cricket World Cup qualifiers.

The target of 291 runs given by Nepal was met by home team Zimbabwe by losing only 2 wickets in 44 overs 1 ball.

After losing the toss at Harare Sports Club, Nepal was invited to bat first and scored 290 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the scheduled 50 overs.

For Nepal, Kushal Bhurtel scored 99, Asif Sheikh 66, Kushal Malla 41 and captain Rohit Paudel scored 31.

In the World Cup qualifiers that started today, Nepal is in the group with Zimbabwe, West Indies, America and the Netherlands.
