First case of Monkeypox confirms in Nepal

Kathmandu: For the first time in Nepal, a person has been infected with the Monkeypox virus.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the infection was confirmed in a 60-year-old foreign woman after an Mpox test.

She was tested at the National Public Health Laboratory Teku in Kathmandu after symptoms similar to Mpox were found. She is under medical supervision. Mpox is transmitted from humans or animals.

Monkeypox has continued to appear in Central, East and West Africa.
