Kathmandu: Nepal has won the first ODI against Papua New Guinea (PNG) by two wickets. Nepal achieved the target of 135 runs set by PNG by losing eight wickets in 39 overs.
Rohit Paudel scored 41 runs for Nepal. Similarly, Ashif Sheikh scored 30, Kushal Bhurtel 15 and Sompal Kami 22 unbeaten runs. After losing seven wickets for 82 runs, Rohit Paudel and Sompal Kami shared 52 runs.
PNG, who had earlier won the toss to start batting, scored 134 runs in 33 overs.
On the bowling side, Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane took four wickets and Sandeep, who bowled 10 overs, took four wickets for 35 runs.
Nepal and PNG are going to play a two-match ODI series.
