PM requests to speak about MCC with reasonable argument

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged the people not to engage in unnecessary politics regarding the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) of the US aid project.

Addressing a meeting of the Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party on Tuesday, Deuba said that those who did not understand the MCC had made more noise than those who understood it.

Prime Minister Deuba also stressed on the need to understand and explain the development and benefits of the MCC project in Nepal as a grant from the United States for the improvement of power transmission lines and roads.

A meeting of the federal parliament has been called for Wednesday. While the MCC’s proposal is expected to be tabled at the convention, Prime Minister Deuba today gave necessary instructions to the lawmakers in this regard.
