HAN demands to revise govt criteria for hotel and resorts

Kathmandu: Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN) has demanded to amend the standards and classification of hotels and resorts.

Under the leadership of HAN President Vinayak Shah, a delegation of HAN members and working committee members met Rudrasingh Tamang, Director General of Department of Immigration and Chakra Bahadur Budha, Director General of Department of Tourism today.

According to HAN, in the meeting with the director general of the immigration department, there was an in-depth discussion regarding the increase in tourist arrivals after the Covid-19, to increase the attraction of tourists to visit Nepal and to improve the border crossing and airport immigration, service delivery, and training.

In a meeting with the Director General of the Tourism Department, Chakra Bahadur Budha, HAN discusses about growing investment in the hospitality sector in the country, to make the stay of international and international tourists in Nepal pleasant, reliable and safe, the association has demanded an amendment to the minimum standards prepared for the hotels and resorts in the district as well as the standard of classification of star hotels-2077.
