Govt will compensate victims of general strike: Deputy PM Pakharel

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Secretariat member of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) KP Sharma Oli’s party Ishwor Pokharel has said that the government will compensate the damage caused by the CPN-Prachanda-Madhav faction’s general strike on Thursday.

Speaking at a public meeting organized by the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) KP Sharma Oli faction in Kathmandu on Friday, Deputy Prime Minister Pokharel said the government would compensate for the damage caused by the general strike on Thursday. He said that the government would compensate the taxi that was vandalized in Kathmandu. He also said that the government would compensate the people for their losses including looting.

Deputy Prime Minister Pokharel said that their fight was against anarchy. He said that they are fighting against those who do not want the country to move towards economic prosperity and against the evil attempts to lead the country towards instability.

Deputy Prime Minister Pokharel claimed that they would get the official status of the CPN. He said that no one can break the authority of the CPN led by KP Sharma Oli. He also said that he would go for fresh public opinion with the sun sign led by Oli.

Deputy Prime Minister Pokharel said that opportunism from the past was the responsibility of another CPN Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ to come to today’s place. He said that no matter how many deceptions and conspiracies are hatched, it will not weaken the journey of economic prosperity.
