Girl in Kathmandu burnt to death after broken engagement

Kathmandu: A girl who was seriously injured in a fire in Kathmandu has died during treatment.

Pushpa Neupane, 27, was found burnt to death in Dhumbarahi on Sunday evening.

Pushpa, a resident of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-10 Baneshwar, went to a house in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-4 Dhumbrahi on Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. She got engaged to the young man of that house last August.

But the relatives of the deceased say that the boy’s family broke off the engagement suddenly without giving any reason. Then on Sunday evening Pushpa was called by the boy’s family to collect the belongings.

Pushpa reached there after they repeatedly called to collect the goods.

Later, the boy’s father called Pushpa’s father and uncle and informed them that she was burnt. But Pushpa’s family has accused boy’s family of letting her die without taking her to the hospital.
