Kathmandu: The 11th edition of NEFTA Film Awards will be held in Texas, USA.
The Nepal Film Technical Association issued a press release and said that the award will be held on May 27, 2023.
Chairman Pushkar Lama has said that the purpose of the award is to expand the international market of Nepali films.
It is mentioned in the statement that the award is being given with the aim of strengthening the 75-year-old diplomatic relations between Nepal and the US, establishing the award as a bridge between the two countries, exploring the Nepali film culture and market in the diaspora, and developing Nepal as an American film shooting destination.
NEFTA is considered to be one of the prestigious awards organized by the private sector in Nepal. NEFTA has also organized an all-party Zoom meeting with filmmakers, organizers, and media personnel on December 7 to discuss the award.
The award will be distributing in 42 categories.
