Kathmandu: The Nepal-India border crossing is going to be closed during the election of the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly to be held on November 20.
A meeting between the security officials of Nepal and India in Bhairahawa on Saturday decided to seal the border from both sides from 12 midnight on November 17 to November 20 midnight.
The meeting has also addressed other common issues such as enforcement of laws by both sides in the border area, immediate exchange of information to control all types of illegal activities, smuggling of arms in the border area, control of counterfeit notes.
The security officers of Rupandehi, Kapilbastu and Nawalparasi West and Siddharthnagar, Maharajgunj of India participated in the meeting.
