Kathmandu: The 9th National Sports Competition has been formally inaugurated today, Friday. Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun inaugurated the 9th National Games with the slogan ‘A united country, a message of sports’ at Pokhara Stadium.
In the opening ceremony, various cultural groups presented shows. Similarly, the team participating in the competition also had a march pass. Although the official opening was held today, some games had already started.
Seven provinces, three departments and 11 teams are participating in the tournament, which includes 38 games including 36 games and two exhibitions. It is said that 6,157 players will participate in the competition.
The competition is about to compete for one thousand and three medals.
Out of 36 games, 26 games are being played in Pokhara and others in seven districts of Gandaki. All the districts of Gandaki, except Lamjung, Manang and Mustang, have conducted games of the ninth national sports.9th National Sports Competition formally begins
