Kathmandu: A writ petition against Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has been registered at the Supreme Court (SC) on Monday. Lawyer Anupam Bhattarai filed the petition, demanding the removal of Lamichhane from his position, citing his involvement in cooperative fund embezzlement.
A bench led by Justice Tek Prasad Dhungana ordered the registration of the writ petition, overturning the previous decision to reject it on May 22.
The hearing for the petition is scheduled for May 29.The writ petition also demands the suspension of Home Minister Lamichhane and the annulment of a letter from the Office of the Attorney General, which stated that there is no case against Lamichhane.
