Vaccination against typhoid to begin on Friday

Kathmandu: The government has decided to vaccinate children against typhoid across the country from next Friday.

The Family Welfare Division has informed in a press conference on Tuesday that the vaccination campaign will be conducted from April 8 for next 24 days.

The division has also stated that all the manpower mobilization, training and vaccination centers have been completed to conduct the vaccination campaign.

The government aims to vaccinate about 7.5 million children between the ages of 15 months and 15 years.

The typhoid vaccine is being given to children for the first time in Nepal. After the campaign, regular vaccinations will be used for children up to 15 months.

With this, the number of regular vaccinations given to children in Nepal will reach 13.
