Kathmandu: CPN-UML Vice-Chairman Bhim Rawal has announced his resignation from the lawmaker post.
Elected from Achham Constituency No. 1, he announced his resignation at a meeting of Madhav Nepal’s party MPs at Singha Durbar on Sunday.
Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s demand for the PM’s post under Article 76 (5) was supported by 26 UML MPs, including Bhim Rawal.
Stating that immoral political activities were seen at a high political level, Rawal said that he would not be a traitor of anti-national and anti-people politics.
“In such a situation, it is better to separate oneself from immoral politics and political practices against the country and the people than to be a traitor,” he wrote in his resignation letter.
