UAE secures final spot in ACC Men’s Premier Cup by defeating Nepal

Kathmandu: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) triumphed over Nepal by six wickets, securing their place in the final of the ACC Men’s Premier Cup. The semi-final clash unfolded on Friday, showcasing a display of skill and determination from both teams.

Opting to field after winning the toss, the UAE set the stage by inviting Nepal to bat first. Nepal put up a respectable total of 119 runs on the scoreboard, albeit losing nine wickets in the process. Sandeep Jora showcased his prowess with the bat, contributing a commendable 50 runs to Nepal’s tally. Gulshan Jha and Karan KC provided additional support, adding 20 and 17 runs respectively to their team’s total.

In response, the UAE exhibited their batting prowess, efficiently chasing down the target of 120 runs in the 18th over of the game. Alishan Sharafu emerged as a standout performer, delivering a stellar innings with 55 runs to his name. V Sukumaran complemented Sharafu’s efforts with an additional 28 runs, solidifying the UAE’s position in the match.

Nepal’s bowling unit fought valiantly, with Gulshan Jha claiming two crucial wickets. Sompal Kami and Karan KC also made significant contributions, each taking one wicket apiece.

With this remarkable victory, the UAE secures their berth in the finals of the ACC Premier Cup, marking a significant milestone in their journey through the tournament.
