Tragic school bus accident claims three lives in Udayapur

Kathmandu: A bus belonging to the Annapurna School in Triyuga Municipality-5 Deuri met a fatal accident in Udayapurgarhi Rural Municipality-7 Andheri on Saturday afternoon.

The accident resulted in the loss of three lives, including the bus driver, while 39 passengers sustained injuries.

The ill-fated bus, returning from a picnic, met with the accident as per reports from the District Police Office in Udayapur. Tragically, the 40-year-old bus driver, Bikhan Chaudhary, lost his life on the spot.

Among the passengers, 7-year-old Sandhya Chaudhary and 6-year-old Bikas Chaudhary also succumbed to their injuries.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Harinandan Choudhary provided details, stating that injured students were promptly transported to the District Hospital in Udayapur with the assistance of local authorities and the District Police.

Five individuals with severe injuries have been transferred to Biratnagar for advanced medical treatment.

The community is grappling with the aftermath of this tragic incident, and local authorities are actively involved in providing support to the victims and their families during this difficult time.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by the relevant authorities to ascertain the circumstances leading to this unfortunate event.
