Kathmandu: The traffic police has started using the mobile app to check whether riders are carrying fake driving license.
After the Department of Transport Management developed a mobile app for checking driver’s license and handed it over to the Metropolitan Traffic Police today, the traffic police will now be able to check the fake license in the field.
Namaraj Ghimire, Director General of the Department of Transport Management, said that the special QR code can be easily distinguished between fake and genuine licenses through mobile apps.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief of the Metropolitan Traffic Police and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Umesh Raj Joshi said that due to lack of technology, it was compulsory to contact the transport offices for suspicious license checks. Now they can easily detect the fake license with the help of a mobile app.
