Traffic police introduce ‘Pay fine on the spot-instant payment system’

Kathmandu: The Metropolitan Traffic Police has started a system in the Kathmandu Valley where traffic fines can be paid on the spot and the traffic police will return the rider’s documents immidiately.

With the implementation of ‘Pay Fine on the Spot-Instant Payment System’ from Thursday, the department has started an arrangement to immediately return the documents from the place of action to the vehicle owners who have been impounded for violating the traffic rules.

Chief of the Metropolitan Traffic Police, Senior Superintendent of Police Janak Bhattarai said that the traffic service is becoming modern and technological.

He said that the problem of having to go to the traffic office and get the documents back after paying the fine has been reformed. If anyone wants to get back their documents immediately, it can be taken immediately by paying the amount. One can pay online or through QR code. ‘

In the first phase, the service has been launched in five places including Gaushala, Durbar Marg, Thapathali, Jawalakhel and Janasewa Traffic Police Center.

However, the service won’t be applicable in on the cases of alcohol, lane discipline and violate the red light, even if they can pay the amount immediately, they will not get the documents until they go to the branch and take the awareness class.
