TIA adding more ATMs to facilitate on-arrival visa

Kathmandu: Rashtriya Banijya Bank’s ATM machine is to be added at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

According to the airport office, Rashtriya Banijya Bank has started adding ATMs after seeing problems in electronic payment for foreign tourists coming to Nepal on on-arrival visa.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) office at Tribhuvan International Airport, the bank is planning to set up an ATM in the passenger departure hall to solve the problem of electronic payment for on-arrival visa.

The airport’s immigration office issued a notice requesting tourists to bring 200 dollars with them after problems with the electronic payment system at the airport.

The office had published the notice urging to carry cash as there was a problem of non-disbursement due to overcrowding and technical problems.
After widespread criticism of the notice, the airport began preparing for improvements and adding more ATMs.
