Sewa Lamsal makes history as Nepal’s first female foreign secretary

Kathmandu: The Cabinet meeting held today has approved the promotion of senior under-secretary Sewa Lamsal to the position of Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, marking a historic decision. With this move, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has appointed its first female Secretary in the 72 years since its establishment.

Lamsal, who has a distinguished career, is set to become the 25th Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This decision follows the retirement of Bharat Raj Paudyal, the former Secretary, who stepped down in mid-Mangsir due to reaching the age of 58.
