SAAF restricts Almutairi on final match

Kathmandu: Nepal’s head coach Abdullah Almutairi has been banned from attending the final match of the SAAF Championship Football today.

The SAAF organizing committee has stated that Nepal’s head coach Almutairi has been banned from today’s final as he received yellow cards in the league matches against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Almutairi has expressed dissatisfaction with the ban. At the virtual press conference, Almutairi expressed dissatisfaction that he was banned for receiving a double yellow card, even though the official mentioned that he would lose another game only if he received a red card in the SAAF rules.

He has accused the SAAF officials of enforcing the provision in the rules so that India can win the competition.

“SAAF officials are not happy with Nepal’s excellent performance in SAAF. They made the decision inspired by India,” Almutairi said.

After the match against Nepal and Bangladesh, the head coach Almutairi said that the officials did nothing to those who attacked the referee. Similarly, Anjan Bista will not be able to play today due to a double yellow card.

Nepal has reached the final of SAAF for the first time. Nepal is playing against India for the title tonight at 8:45 pm.
