Nepal and India playing today for SAAF Championship title

Kathmandu: Nepal and India are competing for the 13th edition of the SAAF Championship Football title today. The match will be played at the National Football Stadium in Male, the capital of Maldives.

Anjan Bista, an important member of the Nepali team, will not play in the final. He had received yellow card in two consecutive games and will miss the final. Nepal made it to the final for the first time in the history of the SAAF Championship as Anjan Bista equalized in the match against Bangladesh.

India reached the final as the winner of the league stage and Nepal as the runner-up. India have collected eight points in the group stage, including two wins and two draws. Nepal has scored seven points including two wins, one draw and one loss.

India, the most successful team in SAAF, has won the title seven times so far.
