Ramchandra Adhikari became the first actor to get health insurance

Kathmandu: Actor Ramchandra Adhikari has become the first actor to benefit from the health insurance scheme arranged by the Film Development Board.

The government had earlier announced that it would provide health insurance facilities to artists who get special category identity cards. According to which the insurance company provided 46,600 rupees to the actor.

Film Development Board Chairman Bhuvan KC handed over the insurance amount to the officials at a program held in Kathmandu on Wednesday.

Actors Madandas Shrestha, Dinesh DC, Pooja Sharma, board member Prakash Bhattarai and others were present in the program.

The board introduced a program of health insurance in accordance with the plan to provide various facilities to the film workers who have received the special film worker identity card.

Out of 102 filmmakers who received identity cards under this program, 98 were insured.
