Public vehicles are not allowed on election day

Kathmandu: Public vehicle movement halted on election day. Only vehicles with driving licenses will be allowed that day.
Similarly, journalists will get a driving license (pass) based on the quota allocated for the concerned media.

Voters are not allowed to use vehicles on election day. However, vehicles licensed by the Election Commission and the District Administration Office are allowed to drive.

Candidates and their representatives are provided passes by the District Administration Office on the recommendation of the Chief Electoral Officer.

Permitted vehicles should also be used for people with physical disabilities to get to and from the election centers.

Emergency services ambulances, drinking water tankers, fire engines, telecommunications, hearses, hospitals, electricity and vehicles of diplomats using blue number plates, however, do not need a vehicle pass.
