Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal of Nepal is poised to embark on a journey to India to partake in the momentous swearing-in ceremony of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Narendra Modi.
Following the resounding victory of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) clinching 292 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, Narendra Modi is primed to take the oath of office as Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive term. The grand ceremony is slated for 6 PM.
Modi, alongside several members of his cabinet, is scheduled to recite their oaths on June 9. Notably, numerous heads of state have received invitations to grace the occasion.
In response to Modi’s cordial invitation, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal will set forth for India on Sunday afternoon. Govinda Acharya, Press Adviser to Prime Minister Dahal, affirmed that Dahal’s sojourn is expected to be brief, with his swift return to the country anticipated.
Reportedly, among the dignitaries in attendance will be Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, Seychellois Vice President Ahmed Afif, Mauritius Prime Minister Pravinda Jagannath, and Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu.
A communique from the central government of India disclosed that President Droupadi Murmu will extend her hospitality by hosting a dinner at Rashtrapati Bhawan, the official residence of the President of India, in honor of the foreign leaders attending the momentous swearing-in ceremony.
