Kathmandu: President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has called for a session of both the Houses of the Federal Parliament on September 8 at 4 pm.
As per the recommendation of the cabinet meeting held on Saturday, President Bhandari has called for a session of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly.
It is customary for the President to convene a session of Parliament on the recommendation of the government. Earlier, the government had ended the parliamentary session on August 16.
The next day, an ordinance was brought to amend the Act on Political Parties to ease the division of parties. As per the ordinance, the members of the state assembly and the people’s representatives at the local level have been given time till September 7 to select the newly registered parties.
The next day, the government recommended convening a parliamentary session.
