Kathmandu: Chairman of the Prachanda-Madhav group of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has tried to prolong his rule in an autocratic manner.
During a meeting with journalists working for international media from Nepal in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Dahal said that an appeal has been made to all the pro-democracy international community for support as democracy is in danger in the country.
He said, “In the meantime, we are talking to everyone separately. We are talking to India, China, the United States, the Europeans and we have made a public appeal to the international community. Democracy is being killed in Nepal, we have formally appealed to the Nepali people to support all those who are in favor of democracy.”
He also pointed out that group meetings could be organized as per the need.
Speaking on the occasion, Dahal said that Nepal would be in a big political dilemma if the government’s decision to dissolve the House of Representatives was upheld. He warned that if the decision of the Election Commission and the Supreme Court came as per the setting, the country would fall into a big political whirlpool.
However, he clarified that they are confident that the court will take decision based on the constitution.
