Police arrests people making fake PCR reports

Kathmandu: Six people, including employees of Kantipur Hospital located at Tinkune of Kathmandu and Nagarik Community Teaching Hospital in Bhaktapur, have been arrested on the charge of making fake PCR report.

A police team deployed from the Metropolitan Crime Branch arrested them on Wednesday. Among the arrested are Roshan Kumar Chhittan, an employee of the Nagarik Community Teaching Hospital, Prashant Kumar Jha, a lab manager and Bhavesh Mishra, a lab operator.

Similarly, employees Nagendra Kumar Yadav, Madhav Mainali and lab operator Nirmal Giri have been arrested from Kantipur Hospital.

Police also sieze eight fake PCR reports from Chhittan and 17 from Yadav. According to the police, the intermediaries used to collect their own swabs and give them to the lab in the name of different people and the lab would provide PCR report without the presence and swab of the concerned person.
