Kathmandu: Four players of the national cricket team have urged the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) to reconsider its decision to take action against them.
Gyanendra Malla, Dipendra Singh Airy, Sompal Kami and Kamal Singh Airy held a press conference on Sunday and demanded reconsideration of the decision.
CAN had taken action against Gyanendra Malla, Dipendra Singh Airy, Sompal Kami and Kamal Singh Airy for non-compliance. Malla has been removed from the captaincy of the national team while Airy has been removed from the post of vice-captain. Similarly, four persons have also been separated from the six-month ‘Central Contract’.
They have called for a reconsideration of the decision, saying it was “saddening”. They have also questioned CAN’s decision on how the new generation could be attracted to cricket players who have played for the country for years on the basis of raising their voice for their rights, killing all their desires and aspirations.
