Paul Shah acquitted by Tanahun District Court

Kathmandu: Actor Paul Shah, accused of raping a girl, has been acquitted by the District Court Tanahun.

Today the single bench of Judge Kom Prasad Acharya acquitted Shah saying that the claim was not sufficient in the accusation of rape.

Shah will not be released immediately even if he is acquitted by the district court as the Nawalpur district court sentenced him to two years and six months of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 25,000 on charges related to child abuse.

In addition, it was decided to pay compensation of 10 lakh rupees to the victim. He will be released only after serving that sentence. Shah has filed an appeal in Pokhara High Court against the decision of Nawalpur court.
