Parliamentary committee directs to provide free covid treatment

Kathmandu: The Education and Health Committee of the Parliament has directed the government to test and treat Covid-19 free of cost even though the government has to cut the budget for other sectors.
In a meeting held on Friday through virtual platform, the committee has given suggestions and instructions for making free corona test and treatment even after cutting the budget of other governmental sectors.
The committee has also directed the government to monitor the cost of treatment of corona infections in private hospitals. The committee has also directed to take action if it is found that the government has taken more than the prescribed fee.
Stating that the government should be serious about the health security and allowances of the health workers deployed in Corona treatment, the committee has also directed to pay the allowances on time.
