Kathmandu: CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has suggested to name Province 1 as Koshi.
Addressing the first convention of Press Chautari Nepal Province No. 1 held at Birtamod on Saturday, he suggested that it would be appropriate to name Province No. 1 ‘Koshi Province’ as the Koshi River originated even before human civilization.
‘Kosi carries old civilization and tradition. Its religion, knowledge, culture, civilization and traditions are connected with the province,’ he said.
He further said that the identity of civilization is more appropriate and shared than the basis of ethnic identity.
