Former NRNA president Ghale and Hirachan calls a meeting

Kathmandu: Former presidents of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Shesh Ghale and Devman Hirachan have called a meeting citing a serious crisis in the NRNA. The chairpersons of the National Coordinating Council (NCC) of the Non-Resident Nepali Association have been invited to the meeting.

A meeting of the International Coordinating Council (ICC) convened on March 2 to dissolve the Legislative Council and the High Level Committee decided to dissolve and reorganize the NCCs of the United States, UK, Australia, Canada and Japan, which have 70 percent members.

“We have been trying for the last six months to resolve the dispute at various stages and save the reputation of the organization, but this effort has gone in vain,” Ghale said in a statement.

He said that the leadership of NRNA is focused on the campaign of not following the suggestions given for resolving the dispute, not holding the tenth general convention on the basis of consensus and capturing the organization.
