NRB Governor says liquidity crisis is improving

Kathmandu: Mahaprasad Adhikari, Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), has said that the liquidity within the banking system is improving.

He also informed that the interbank rate has dropped from 8.5 to 7.07 percent.

Speaking at a program held in Kathmandu on the occasion of the Annual General Meeting of Nepal Bankers Association, the governor Adhikari gave this information.

He said that the financial sector is gradually getting back to the track. He mentioned that there is a structural problem in Nepal’s economy and that the main driver is remittances. He also said that there should be a shift from this.
