Kathmandu: A new record has been set by successfully climbing 14 mountains in 92 days.
Nepali climber Tenzing Sherpa and Norwegian mountaineer Christine Harila set a world record by completing the ascent of the 8,000-meter high mountain, including Everest, the world’s highest peak, on Thursday.
With this, a record of Nirmal Purja, who had previously completed the ascent of 8,000 highest 14 mountains in a short period of 6 months and 6 days, has broken.
Sherpa and Harila started their expedition of climbing 14 mountains in a short period of time by climbing Sisapan (8027 meters) mountain in Tibet, China.
On the second, Mt. Choyu (8188 m) on the China-Nepal border and then Makalu (8485 m) on May 13, 2023, Kanchenjunga (8586 m) on May 18, 2023, they climed Everest (8848.86 m) and Lhotse (8516 m) on May 23, 2023.
