NOC suggests govt to reduce fuel consumption

Kathmandu: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has sent various 10-point proposals to the government to reduce fuel consumption.

The corporation has sent a proposal to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies to distribute up to five liters of fuel to motorcycles and up to 20 liters to cars and jeeps at a time to reduce fuel consumption.

Similarly, the corporation has also proposed to operate government and private vehicles in an odd and even number system.

The corporation has also proposed to halt import of fuel equipments.

The corporation has made such a proposal after the loss of the corporation will increase due to the increase in fuel consumption. But this proposal will be implemented only if approved by the Ministry.

The corporation still owes Rs 22 billion to the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC).
