Nepali govt urges to remain alert with monkeypox infection

Kathmandu: The government has urged special precautions to be taken against the spread of the monkeypox infection.

The government has urged the people to be alert and adopt health precautions citing that there is a potential danger in Nepal as the infection of monkey pox is spreading in the world now.

Ministry of Health and Population has requested all to take care of personal hygiene. The ministry has also said that the Nepali nationals and foreigners coming from abroad should stay in the quarantine for at least two weeks and should not touch any outside items as much as possible and should be cleaned immediately with soap and water.

The ministry has assured that the government had taken “necessary steps” to prevent the spread of the monkeypox and had stepped up surveillance at border points.
