Kathmandu: The Nepali U-20 women’s team playing SAFF U-20 Women’s Championship to be held in Bangladesh has been announced.
Chief trainer Yam Bahadur Gurung has announced the final team under the captaincy of Preeti Rai.
Nepal will play its first match against home team Bangladesh on February 3. Similarly, Nepal will play the league against Bhutan on February 5 and against India on February 7.
The top two teams in the single round robin league championship will play the final on February 9.
For the first time, this tournament is going to be organized in the U-20 format.
Nepal, who became the runner-up in the first edition, has not yet won the title. Nepal was third in 2021 and 2022.
Nepal team includes, goalkeepers: Kabita BK, Sabitri Kishan and Leela Joshi. Similarly, there are defenders; Sabina Chowdhary, Sajni Thokar, Saru Hamal, Sunita Bholan, Dibya Magar, Pratiksha Chowdhary and Kumari Tamang.
Midfielders; Tulasa Bohara, Kusum Khatiwada, Saraha Bajracharya, Sunkala Rai, Manmaya Damai, Priti Rai (Captain), Anjali Machamsee, Saraswati Hamal and Deepa Shahi are also in the team.
Meanwhile, towards forwards, Garima Rai, Amisa Karki, Mamta Pun and Anjali Chand were selected.
