Kathmandu: Nepal lost to Kuwait in the first match of the SAFF Championship 2023.
Nepal lost to Kuwait by 3-1 in the match held today on Wednesday at Kantirava Stadium in Bangalore, India.
After Kuwait scored 2 goals in the first half, Nepal scored one goal in the second half.
Nepal will now play next match with India on Saturday. Group ‘A’ includes India, Pakistan and Kuwait along with Nepal. Group ‘B’ has Lebanon, Maldives, Bhutan and Bangladesh.
In the 14th edition of the competition, Lebanon and Kuwait are going to play as invited teams.
Sri Lanka, which is in SAARC, will not be able to participate in the tournament this time due to FIFA’s ban.
