Borders to remain close from Tuesday mid-night

Kathmandu: The silence period for the local elections to be held on Friday will start from tomorrow night.

No election campaign is allowed during the silence period.

With only two days left for the election campaign today and tomorrow, the parties and candidates are busy in the race.

Similarly, border crossings with China and India will be closed from midnight tomorrow.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the border will be closed from 12 am tomorrow to 12 am on Friday.

Borders are closed in accordance with international law when elections are held in any country. The ministry also said that security has been tightened in the border areas in view of the election.
